This explains what personal information Feescale collects, why, how long it's kept, and what you can ask us to do about it. We've tried to keep it short and specific.

If you visit this website

We don't use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind, and the site loads nothing from third parties. Its fonts are served from our own server.

Like almost every web server, ours keeps a short log of requests: your IP address, the time, the page requested, and whether it worked. It doesn't record your browser details or anything you type. We use it only to keep the site running and secure, under our legitimate interest in doing so, and it's deleted automatically after 7 days.

If you use the prototype

Anything you enter into the prototype, such as your practice name and prices, is stored only in your own web browser. It's never sent to us and we can't see it. Clearing your browser's data for this site removes it.

If you email us

We'll keep your message and contact details so that we can reply and continue the conversation, under our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. We delete correspondence within 12 months of it ending, unless you've asked us to stay in touch.

If we've contacted your practice

To understand how practices are handling the CMA's new pricing requirements, we contact some independent veterinary practices directly. To do that we use business contact details that are already published:

• the practice's name, website and the email address it publishes there, and
• company details from the public register at Companies House.

We only contact practices run as limited companies, at the addresses they publish for business enquiries. Where that address includes a person's name, it's personal information, and we use it under our legitimate interest in researching and developing Feescale. Every email says who we are and how to opt out.

If you tell us to stop, we will, and we keep just your email address on a list of people not to contact, so that we don't contact you again by mistake. Otherwise we delete your details within 12 months of our last contact.

Who else sees it

We don't sell or share personal information. It's held on servers we rent from our hosting provider in the European Union, and email passes through our email provider. They process it only on our instructions.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy,
• correct it or delete it,
• stop using it, or restrict how we use it.

You can object at any time to being contacted, and we'll stop. Email us at harold@basicallymental.dev. We'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
