Terms of service
Last updated 23 October 2026
These terms apply when your practice creates a Feescale account, whether you use it free or subscribe. They're written to be read, not just agreed to. If anything is unclear, email us before you sign up or subscribe.
Who we are
Feescale is run by Harry Walsh, trading as Feescale, in the United Kingdom.
Address: 10 Silver Birch Grove, Trowbridge, BA14 0JQ

1. Who these terms are for
Feescale is for veterinary businesses. By creating an account or subscribing, you confirm that you're acting for a business, such as a veterinary practice or group, and not as a consumer, and that you're authorised to accept these terms on its behalf. In these terms "you" means that business, and "we" and "us" mean Feescale.
2. What Feescale is
Feescale is software that helps you prepare and keep up to date the standard price list and related pricing information that the Competition and Markets Authority's Veterinary Services Market Investigation Order 2026 requires. What's available today, and what's still being built, is described on our home page and pricing page. We'll add features over time, and your subscription includes them at no extra cost.
Feescale is still early. The demo keeps prices only in your own web browser; prices you enter in your account are saved on our servers, as section 10 describes.
3. Your account
- You sign in with a link we email to you, so anyone who can read that email address can sign in as you. Use an address that only the right people can get into.
- The person who creates the account is its owner. The owner can manage billing, rename the account and delete sites, and is responsible for everyone they give access to.
- An account can hold up to 14 practice sites, each with its own price list. For more, email us.
4. The free plan
Creating an account is free, and no card is needed. On the free plan you can build, save and check a price list for each of your sites, and use the website page and reception poster it produces. Publishing your price lists through Feescale, on a page we host for each site and with a dated record of what was published and when, needs a subscription. We may change what the free plan includes, and will email you at least 30 days before a change that takes anything away.
5. Feescale isn't legal advice
We build Feescale to follow the CMA's Order and guidance as closely as we can, but we don't give legal or regulatory advice. You remain responsible for your practice's compliance with the Order, the RCVS Code of Professional Conduct and any other rules that apply to you, and for checking that the prices and information you publish are accurate and up to date.
6. Subscriptions and payment
- Plans and prices are shown on our pricing page. You subscribe from the Billing page in your account and pay monthly or annually, in advance.
- Your subscription covers every site on your account. You pay for that number of sites at the per-site price of the plan it falls in: one site on the Single practice plan, 2 to 5 on the Small group plan, 6 to 14 on the Group plan.
- Payments are taken by card through Stripe. Stripe emails a receipt for each payment.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel.
- We're not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to our prices. If we register, we'll tell you at least 30 days before VAT is added.
- If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it. If it still hasn't been paid 14 days later, we may suspend your access until it is.
- If you add a site, your subscription moves to the new number of sites, and to that number's plan, straight away. The extra cost for the rest of the current billing period is charged then, pro rata. The Billing page shows the new price before you add the site.
- If you remove a site, the lower price applies from then on. We don't refund the rest of the current period for it.
7. Price changes
The per-site prices you subscribe at stay the same for as long as your subscription continues without a break, including for sites you add later. If we change our prices, the change applies to new subscriptions only.
8. Cancelling and refunds
- You can cancel at any time, from "Manage billing" on the Billing page in your account, from the link in your Stripe receipt, or by emailing us. You keep your subscription until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- When a subscription ends, your account goes back to the free plan. Your sites, price lists and the record of what you published stay in it, but the pages we host for your sites go offline, so make sure your website shows your prices another way before then.
- If you pay annually and cancel within 14 days of your first annual payment, we'll refund it in full.
- Otherwise we don't refund part-used periods.
9. Using Feescale fairly
You agree not to share your access outside your business, to try to break or overload the service, or to copy, resell or reverse-engineer it. If you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, we may suspend or end your subscription, and we'll tell you why.
10. Your information
The prices and practice details you enter remain yours. We use them only to provide Feescale to you. How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy notice.
We save your price lists on our servers and take an encrypted backup copy every night. We keep the last 14 on our server and a copy of each for 12 weeks at a separate storage provider in the EU. Even so, keep your own record of the prices you publish: the CMA's Order makes your practice responsible for them.
You can close your account at any time by emailing us from the owner's address. We'll cancel any subscription, and delete the account, its sites, its price lists and its published pages within 30 days. Copies in our backups are gone 12 weeks after that.
Feescale, its software and its design belong to us. Your subscription gives your business the right to use it while the subscription lasts. Price lists, posters and other material Feescale produces from your information are yours to use as you like, during and after your subscription.
11. Availability
We aim to keep Feescale available and working well, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted, for example during maintenance or because of problems with our hosting provider. We'll give notice of planned maintenance where we can.
12. Our liability
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
- We aren't liable for loss of profit, revenue, business or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
- We aren't liable for fines, enforcement action or other consequences of your practice's compliance or non-compliance with the CMA's Order or any other regulation, which remains your responsibility (see section 5).
- Otherwise, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for Feescale in that period.
13. Ending the service
If we ever decide to stop providing Feescale, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and refund any amount you've paid for time after it stops.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features. We'll email you at least 30 days before any change that affects you takes effect. If you don't agree with a change, you can cancel before it takes effect and we'll refund any amount you've paid for time after that date.
15. The legal bits
These terms, with the pricing page, are the whole agreement between us about Feescale. If any part of them is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. Neither of us can transfer the agreement to someone else without the other's consent, except that we may transfer it to anyone who takes over Feescale, and we'll tell you if that happens. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
